Sound Healing for a Higher Frequency

Sound Healing for a Higher Frequency

Welcome to the world of Spirituality. Some live by it, some are curious to learn more about it, and some have gone all the way to the ‘other-side’ and incurably considered: “Woo Woo.”

Maybe you’ve seen it happen before: The beautiful mermaid looking woman invites you to a Sound Healing ceremony where her angelic voice serenades you into a sweet meditation. Yes, it’s true, her voice has a frequency that allows your mind to focus on a single thing, as your stresses drop out of your brain like honey, leaving only you and your marshmallow of a body draped on a yoga mat. Hallelujah. This is one type of sound healing I highly recommend..

From crystal healing bowls that are attuned to different energy centers – chakras – in the body, to voice activations, harps, binaural beats; sound healing uses vibration to release energetic blocks so that you can find harmony and deep peace.

Which, the body heals at a faster rate when you’re at peace. Relaxation is the prerequisite for your personal genius to shine through, and furthermore, clarity comes from a space of ease, not anxiety.

Now, you’re here to learn more about Sound Healing and although it can sometimes seem like a mysterious journey, this modality is dated all the way back to ancient Greece where people would play different sounds to soothe pain and relax from stress. Although the practice of sound healing is dated, I imagine we have some newer instruments and ways of receiving the sweet sounds of high frequencies and healing. Think about your favorite song streaming over Spotify and how quickly it lives your mood. This would be considered a ‘high-vibe’ experience! And there’s plenty more of that to go around.

Sound healing is one of the most healthy ways to destress and organize your thoughts, even sometimes activating different brain states to create deeper creativity and full on rejuvenation.

Curious how? Well, sound travels through the ears and affects the limbic system which is where our emotions and memories are stored. The harmonious sounds create a space where the body must relax, making muscle tension at an all time low. When the muscles are relaxed, the sound can then stimulate the Vagus nerve which runs through most of the body. When the Vagus nerve is stimulated it reverberates through the different organs giving them their own personal massage. Which, we all know when you get a massage you always wake up feeling better. So there you have it.

Sound Woo? Or Scientific?

Instruments are tuned to different tones that affect the body in positive or negative ways, and similarly your life experience is tuned to positive or negative experiences that affect your frequency.

When an experience strikes a “good chord” in your body, you notice yourself filled with more energy and perhaps even elation; like your partner telling you how beautiful you are. Yep, that feels juicy!

When an experience strikes a “bad chord,” your body contracts, your mind gets anxious, and you feel dense; like if you’re taxi driver tells you your cab is 400 more pesos than what you expected.

Life is all about frequency and flow – so do find a sound healing teacher that resonates with you. Then, lay back and let the music move you.
